In recent years, Đồng Tháp has witnessed a tourism boom thanks to a special sports and cultural event: the TPBank Đất Sen Hồng Music Marathon. More than just a race, this event has become a powerful catalyst, spreading the image of the “Land of Pink Lotus” across the country and reaching out internationally.
In the 2025 season, Cao Lãnh city was fully booked as tens of thousands of runners and visitors flocked in. Hotels and homestays reached 100% occupancy, with many sold out well in advance. Restaurants, eateries, and cafés also reported revenue increases of 50–60% compared to the same period, turning lotus-based dishes, cá linh (small fish), and Sa Đéc noodles into highly sought-after specialties.
The marathon was not limited to the race itself; it transformed Cao Lãnh into a cultural festival. Lantern streets, the “Path of Lights,” and the grand “Đồng Tháp Super Moon” installation became attractive check-in spots. Street activities such as lion dances, lantern-making workshops, and musical performances created a lively atmosphere, drawing thousands of visitors each day.
The TPBank Đất Sen Hồng Marathon has proven that a sports event can serve as a major boost for the economy and society, turning Đồng Tháp from a tranquil destination into a vibrant tourism hub of the Mekong Delta. This is the moment for Đồng Tháp to affirm its brand of sustainable green tourism, combining sports, culture, and ecology, and to become a new rendezvous point in the eyes of friends from around the world.
